SAFETeen Piloting Phase Begins

The SAFETeen project officially launched its piloting phase in January 2026, marking an important step towards improving road safety awareness among young people. Running through until the end of May 2026, this phase will actively engage more than 100 students in each partner country, providing hands-on learning experiences designed to address the real challenges adolescents face in their daily mobility. Through structured lesson plans, students explore four key risk factors affecting road safety: educational gaps, personal and situational influences, social behavior, and environmental exposure.

When learning becomes a real experience, understanding road safety takes on a whole new meaning

During the SAFETeen pilot implementation, students had the opportunity to step into realistic mobility scenarios using innovative digital tools, including virtual reality and the Emergency Aid app. Through these interactive activities, they tested their reactions, explored how distractions can influence decision-making, and reflected on their own readiness before getting on the move.

This hands-on approach highlights a simple but powerful idea: road safety starts with awareness. By learning through experience, students are encouraged to think responsibly and adopt safer behaviours in their everyday mobility.
