Special workshop on road safety education using modern digital tools

Τhe Laboratory of Health and Road Safety (LaHeRS) of the Department of Social Work of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), and the European Association for Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion (EuroSafe) organized the 12th European Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion (EU-SAFETY 2025), which took place on September 30, October 1 & 2, 2025, at the Cultural and Conference Center of Heraklion.

As part of the EUSAFETY2025 conference, a pre-conference workshop was held entitled: “Digital Tools for Teen Safety in Every day and Emergency Mobility Situations.”

During the pre-conference workshop, modern digital educational tools that were developed under the ERASMUS+ project SAFETeen were presented, aiming to prevent injuries and promote safe mobility among young people, with or without vehicles. Participants had the opportunity to watch a live demonstration of the digital tools, including a Virtual Reality (VR) tool and an emergency aid mobile and tablet application and to engage in specially designed pedagogical experiential activities.

The workshop gathered educators of all levels, psychologists, social workers, and others interested in incorporating innovative approaches to safe mobility into their professional practice
